ALBERTO BALDRIGHI

Alberto Baldrighi, born in Monza in 1966, is part of the latest generation of pianists trained at the school of Alberto Mozzati. He graduated in 1988 from the "G. Nicolini" Conservatory of Piacenza with highest honors. From 1993 to 1995 he specialized at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich under Ludwig Hoffmann (Meisterklasse).
He has established himself in numerous national and international competitions, winning, among others, First Prize at "Città di Stresa," "Città di Osimo," "Città di Como," Kawai Review-Como, "Gargano '89," and Second Prize at "L. Gorgni - Piacenza" and "A. Speranza" competitions in Taranto.
He has given concerts for important Italian and foreign musical associations (Serate Musicali of Milan, Amici della Musica of Bologna, Società dei Concerti of Como, Teatro Manzoni of Milan, Gioventù Musicale of Brescia, Teatro Ponchielli of Cremona, St. Louis Webster University - United States, International Festival of Nauplion, Festival dei Due Mondi of Spoleto, Philharmonic Society of Trento and Rovereto, Teatro Donizetti of Bergamo, etc.).
Since 1993 he has also been playing steadily in a duo (Duo Alkan) with pianist Anne Colette Ricciardi, with whom he has made four CDs for the AGORA' record company in Milan, (Sonatas by Clementi, L'Opéra à quatre mains, Donizetti's four-hand pieces, and music by Schubert). He also released a CD with Liszt's Sonata and Schubert's Sonata D960 for AMM in 2005.
He has been lecturing in musicology for several years. With a background in the humanities, his recent engagements have also turned to the analysis of the relationship between figurative arts, poetry and music, and in particular the influence, on the latter, exerted by Dante's literature. During his performances, through the recitation of numerous cantos of the Divine Comedy, Alberto Baldrighi researched the various moments in which the aesthetics of Stylnovistic poetic verse influenced the music to come. Conversely, his musical sensibility, always bring out, in his reading, the component constituted by the art of sounds. His collaborations in the literary sphere see him involved with the University of Literature and Musicology of Pavia, and he has been several times a guest of the Heart Association of Vimercate, the Filodrammatici Society of Cremona and numerous other cultural associations.
Alberto Baldrighi has always devoted himself with great interest to teaching activities. In 1994 he published the treatise "Esercizi di tecnica pianistica" by Alberto Mozzati for the Ricordi publishing house and founded the "Alberto Mozzati" Academy of Music in Mezzago (MB). Several of his students have achieved flattering successes in international competitions and in the concert arena.
He is president of the Friends of Music Association of Mezzago and artistic director of the Filo Concert Society of Cremona.
A former director of the "C. Monteverdi" Higher Institute of Music Studies in Cremona, he taught at the same institute after winning the competition for the principal piano professorship from 2003 to 2013.
Since 2013 he has been teaching principal piano at the "Luca Marenzio" Conservatory of Music in Brescia.
Since 2018, he has been director of the same conservatory.
